Technical Writer

Cariden Technologies is a self-motivated technical writer to plan, research, write, and produce high-quality, end-user documentation for MATE software. Research PRDs and work with product managers and engineers to determine new product and feature documentation needs. Assist with publication details. Requires demonstrable expertise in technical writing and ability to work with highly technical concepts within the IP/MPLS networking and telecommunications industry.


Requirements

• BA/BS in English, journalism, engineering, or computer science
• 8 years of professional, end-user, technical writing experience
• Experience in writing both instructional and reference documentation for service provider network engineers
• Background in IP/MPLS networking and telecommunications
• Ability to understand complex, technical concepts
• Exceptional writing and organizational skills
• Ability to quickly learn publishing tools
• Ability to understand and write to a variety of audiences
• Ability to work in multiple environments: with or without directions, amongst a team, and individually with minimal supervision
• Self starter, self motivator
• Eye for detail

Preferred Skills

• Tools: Word, Structured FrameMaker and .xml, including DTD and EDD files
• Ability to research and make recommendations on publishing tools with multiple factors considered
• Ability to make recommendations on improving documentation: usability, structure, and access/navigation
• Experience writing highly technical white papers, as well as implementation and design guides
